I was looking through Craigslist (CL) today & they have that section there, in personals, called missed connections. There are people, who have apparently seen a person that they liked, but didn't have a chance to meet them or leave a phone #. And they are pretty good people descriptions too, i mean just look at the headings:

Girl w/ the Red iPod on the D or B Near Bryant Park
Barefoot on the 11 bus
Mile 18 of the Marathon

Well you get the idea. So I started to wonder why people write them & who writes them & whether they ever get replies. So I asked the question & posted it into the missed connections section. I did get a few emails back, some guys just wanted another chance, someone said that It's an easy way of satisfying that "hey, at least I tried" feeling of closure. But here is my most fav one of the day!!!! Thanks to John!

Hello

I saw your ad on CL. The reason I post on CL Missed Connections is because it is a way for me to get people to laugh through out the day. Here are two of my most recent postings.

http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/mis/1451127376.html

I usually see an attractive girl on the subway and decide that I should post something about her. My stories always going into different directions. They are mainly fiction, yet they do go into sexual directions often. I am in a committed relationship, I do not search for someone for a romantic reason. Once I have posted my story I will ask coworkers to see if they can pick out my posting. About 50% of the time they are correct. I have never gotten the missed connection from the person I have posted the story for. If I ever did receive that email I would be so happy. Because that would mean that there is someone out there like me and I would find pleasure in that. Most people would not respond to a posting if were about them, especially when I talk about having them give me a blowjob in the middle of the train, or them allowing me to have sex with their passed out friend.

I also post in the Casual Encounters section. But never regarding myself. I have attached one image from a previous posting I did of my friend and coworker Dino. I added his picture to the site and let me say, he was not very happy about this. It is a very entertaining story. I hope you enjoy. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me.

best,
John

I think he beat all of them! That was my research for the day!

Going to pick up my freecycle nailpolish now!
